WHAT
IS ENTERTAINER'S SECRET THROAT RELIEF?
Entertainer's Secret Throat Relief is a spray formulated to resemble
natural mucosal secretions and designed to moisturize, humidify
and lubricate the mucous membranes of the throat and larynx.
HISTORY
Entertainer's Secret resulted from a collaborative effort of KLI
CORP and a Nashville TN otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist),
Richard Quisling, MD, whose practice includes many singers and entertainers.
When these professionals' voices are at less than their best, careers
and very livelihoods are at risk. Our goal was to develop a product
which could protect the vocal apparatus and restore and maintain
voice quality and comfort without doing harm. After trying various
ratios of a number of different ingredients, the final formulation
of the product now known as Entertainer's Secret Throat Relief evolved.
Once subsequent testing found it to be safe and effective, it was
registered as a medical device by the FDA in the United States.
The first sales took place in 1984 and it originally was called
Moi-Stir 10.

DOES ENTERTAINER'S SECRET DO?
This unique, easy to use, non-medicinal throat spray:

HOW
DOES IT WORK?
When sprayed orally or nasally into the throat, it adjusts the thickness
and flow of the mucus in the sinuses and the passageways of the
nose and throat. Introduction of this solution helps mend the discomfort
of a dry, sore, scratchy throat and the annoyance of a hoarse tired
voice - and works to prevent further occurrences. The nose and throat
not only moisturize incoming air but they also serve as filtering
mechanisms. Tiny hairs in the nose called cilia are constantly moving
back and forth. They sweep away particulate matter - such as dust,
smoke or other pollutants - so it can’t enter the lungs. A
moist passageway, lined with sticky mucus is a much more efficient
filter than a dry one devoid of mucus.Entertainer's Secret is to
dry throat and hoarse voice what lip balms are for chapped lips
or what hand lotions are for skin that has become irritated or chapped
due to exposure to detergents, solvents or chemicals. It is not
a medication or a "cure" but it can help relieve throat
and voice problems when dryness is a contributing factor.

WHAT
DOES IT CONTAIN?
Entertainer's Secret is formulated to resemble natural secretions.
Sodium carboxymethylcellulose, aloe vera gel and glycerin - each
a proxy for a naturally secreted type of mucus (globular, strand
and sheet) - are blended into a buffered, aqueous hypertonic solution.
Unlike some other sore throat remedies, it does NOT contain numbing
anesthetics, alcohol, antiseptics, analgesics, antihistamines, decongestants,
anti-inflammatory agents or any other "medicinal" ingredient
that can produce unwanted side effects. The improved honey-apple
flavor imparts a pleasant mellow taste.
HOW
DO I USE IT?
One can spray Entertainer's Secret into the throat while saying
"Ahh", but a more effective way is to take a quick breath
inward while spraying into the mouth.
To insure that
the upper throat is reached, one should tilt the head back, aim
the nozzle in the nostril and inhale sharply while spraying.
Any brief "tingling"
sensation will be quickly replaced by a pleasant soothing feeling.
It should be sprayed as often as necessary to eliminate dryness.
As is the case with hand lotion or lip balm, over-dosing is not
a concern. If the dryness, irritation or hoarseness persists for
more than a few days or if there are any signs of infection, a physician
should be consulted.
WILL
IT HELP MY ALLERGIES / SINUSES?
Allergy and sinus complaints often involve congestion and discomfort
because of very thick mucus.
Spraying Entertainer's Secret helps to thin out or make this material
less viscous. This lets the mucus flow as it should which keeps
the underlying membranes moist and healthy. Although Entertainer's
Secret Throat Relief is not a specific remedy for these problems,
it can reduce the symptoms of discomfort.
I'M
NOT AN ENTERTAINER; WHY SHOULD I BE INTERESTED?
While we are flattered to number many famous people among our customers,
we are equally pleased that it has been helpful to hundreds of teachers
of many different subjects at every academic level, choir members,
salespersons, members of the clergy, and business and professional
people all around the world. Anybody who relies on their voice for
work or fun should have a bottle in their medicine chest, supply
cabinet, briefcase, car or desk alongside other personal care products.
It's a very inexpensive way to insure your very best vocal quality.
At one point it was a "secret" for people in the entertainment
field; no more!
For anybody
who vocalized- teachers, speakers and especially singers- here's
a tip from voice professionals: Always drink plenty of water to
achieve and maintain systemic hydratoin. This helps deliver moisture
to the dry sensitive membranes in the vocal apparatus "from
the inside out". And also spray Entertainer's Secret in to
your throat, via the mouth and the nostrils, to supplement re-hydration
of the area "from the outside in". If you get that part
of the anatomy nice and moiset, discomfort and vocal distortion
often can be remedied and if you keep it that way, you can prevent
a lot of unpleasantness from recurring.
WILL
IT MAKE ME BETTER IN MY JOB?
It surely can't hurt. An unpleasant voice is rarely an occupational
advantage, whatever one does. Discomfort seldom improves performance.
INFORMATION
FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS
The final formulation was established after considerable experimenting
with fiberoptic visualization and computer- generated sonogram technology
that records vibrational characteristics and changes in vocal quality.
The product's "clinical" function is to supplement and
adjust the viscosity of the natural secretions which keep the throat
and vocal apparatus moist and healthy.
People who use
(abuse?) their voices longer or more aggressively than usual while
speaking or singing probably comprise the majority of the individuals
who can benefit from Entertainer's Secret. But within the healthcare
community, it also has been found helpful for head and neck radiation
patients, for speech pathology patients, for people with Sjogren's

SHELF LIFE
The shelf life of Entertainers Secret is normally 2 years. There is nothing in the ingredients that can go bad and if the bottles stay out of the sunlight then there is nothing to be concerned about.

Mensen moeten
zich er wel van bewust zijn dat het geen wondermedicijn is. Als

Veel uitgeprobeerd
met mijn stem en die bleef helemaal goed. Tijdens het zingen drink
ik altijd veel water. Met ESS heb ik het gevoel dat er een laagje
op je stembanden komt te liggen waardoor je het gevoel hebt dat
je veel hebt gedronken. Daarnaast voelt het zacht aan. Moet wel
zeggen dat je het gelijk moet gebruiken zodra je 'last' hebt van
je keel; dus niet 1x sprayen voordat je gaat zingen; maar flacon
bij je houden en sprayen wanneer het nodig is.

Ik had mijn bedenkingen bij het product maar heb het toch besteld omdat andere dingen niet echt hielpen bij een droge keel en rauwe stem. Ik zing vaak pop/musical nummers maar de laatste weken ook het zware opera nummer caruso en het werkt prima een aanrader voor iedere vocalist.

We often get
this question: It would seem that anything other than a very positive
answer from the company who makes the product would be highly unlikely.
So it can come as a surprise when we routinely point out that Entertainer’s
Secret is not a cure-all: For example, if the "sore throat"
is, in fact, a streptococcal infection, only an antibiotic and/or
time can cure strep throat. Also, resolving organic or structural
problems like nodules or nodes on the vocal apparatus might require
time, vocal rest and maybe even surgical intervention. Entertainer’s
Secret can provide symptomatic help for these and other complaints
but it is not a panacea.

I just want

a very serious throat problem called GLOSSOPHARYNGEAL NEURALGIA.

I just wanted
to send you a note to thank you for manufacturing this product.
I have suffered from a throat disorder for the past 11 years, and
have taken every medication known to man to try to alleviate this
problem, with no success. The best way I can describe it is to say
it was like having a sheet of cardboard at the back of my throat.
There was always blockage between the back of my nose and > throat,
and I couldn't do anything to dislodge it. I came across your product
by accident and sent away for it, not really believing it would
do any good. I have been using it for about 2 weeks now, a few times
a day, and it is providing me with the only relief I have had since
the problem first surfaced. The spray is not eliminating the problem,
but it is loosening the congestion for
hours at a time. This is the first time I have felt good in years,
and the first time I have been able to get up in the mornings without

I am a full
time musician who regulary will sing for seven hours in one day.
I also have high blood pressure. My doctor
accidentally prescribed a medication for me that encouraged dryness
in the throat and coughing. I didn't know why this was
